Sports News: Saina Nehwal wins Australian Open Super Series title 2014
The 24-year-old Saina, who enjoyed a 1-0 head-to-head record against Marin going into Sunday's match, logged the first point and displayed some deft net play against her rival, stroking in some delectably timed volleys to take a 5-2 lead in the opening game.
But the 21-year-old Marin was not the one to give up easily and showed just why she is considered one of the most feisty players on the circuit. She narrowed the gap to 6-8 but seemed distinctly out of her comfort zone every time Saina dragged her towards the net.
Also, Marin didn't help her cause by committing a service error to gift an easy point to Saina, who went into the interval leading 11-7 after an intriguing rally which ended with the Spaniard smashing the shuttle wide.
Marin raised her game and the decibel levels after the break but Saina was quick to counter-attack and returned her rival's attempted smashes with quiet intensity.
In between, Marin played some fine strokes but they never came consistently enough as Saina made it 17-12. Marin's dogged determination was there to be seen in every point she played for but that alone was never going to be enough to upstage a composed Saina.
The Indian, who didn't seem affected at all by Marin's aggressive outpouring of emotions after every claimed point, sealed the opening game 21-18 after her world number 11 rival smashed one into the net 23 minutes into the match.
In the second game, Marin's determination helped her take a 3-1 lead to start with but it was not too long before Saina came back into the fray, this time on the back of some well-placed strokes from the baseline.
Perhaps taking a cue from Marin, Saina too let some emotion show as she clenched her fist and shouted 'come on' after every clinched point. But one of her screams came about in the middle of a rally, prompting Marin to complain to the chair umpire, who merely asked her to continue.

Tech Buzz: Vertu Signature Touch- A $22,000 Android phone feels like
With Vertu finally offering an up-to-date luxury phone, we naturally had to check out the Signature Touch up close and personal. After all, it's not everyday that one gets to play with a $21,900 phone for free (though you can do so at any Vertu boutique, as long as you're nicely dressed). For those who haven't caught up with the announcement, we're looking at a 4.7-inch 1080p display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chip, 64GB of storage, 13MP/2.1MP cameras, a 2,275mAh battery, Qi wireless charging, NFC and a handful of LTE bands. With the exception of the battery (which, to be fair, is already much larger than those on previous models), these are all very decent for an Android 4.4 device.
As hinted by its name, the Signature Touch continues the legacy of the Signature series by carrying its iconic features. Under Vertu's new lead designer, Ignacio Germade, the masculine "V-spine" design and the D-ring latch (for popping open the Micro SIM tray cover) remain; though the ceramic ear pillow is now smaller and makes way for a titanium chin, instead of being surrounded by a metallic bezel. Another notable change is that the stereo speakers -- developed in partnership with Bang & Olufsen -- are now facing the front, which makes a lot more sense than the sideway speakers on the similar-looking Ti.
The ringtones produced by the London Symphony Orchestra sounded exceptional on those speakers, which isn't a surprise. According to Hutch Hutchison, Vertu's Head of Concept Creation and Design, each ringtone is tuned for optimal effect on each model, rather than just copying the same audio files to the whole range. A new addition on this end is the set of Dolby Digital Plus effects, which should come in handy for watching movies and playing games.
Another big collaboration on the Signature Touch lies within its 13-megapixel and 2.1-megapixel cameras. We're still surprised that Vertu managed to get renowned camera maker Hasselblad to help optimize the imaging performance; though sadly, we'll have to wait for the final camera software before we can judge the results.

While the specifications (apart from the just 2300 mAh battery) are quite decent, we doubt if the consumers will be willing to spend 24K on a Micromax smartphone. Tech Buzz:BlackBerry Z3 Set to Launch in India
BlackBerry's recently launched low-cost touchscreen smartphone, the Z3, seems all set to be launch in India on June 25. The company has started sending invites for the event scheduled next week with a tagline that said, "Join us to witness the unveiling of the next generation BlackBerry 10 device."

The Z3 was made available for the Indonesian market starting mid-May and has been priced less than $200 (roughly Rs. 12,000). Considering the Indonesian market pricing of the BlackBerry Z3, we can expect the smartphone to be priced in the budget segment and will likely intensify competition in the smartphone space in India.

Los Angeles-based Outdoor Tech has designed "smart" speakers named "Big Turtle Shell" that charge other devices' batteries while you listen to music.
When the speaker is laid flat, it can still push sound in directions other than straight up in the air.
Not only does the "Big Turtle Shell" offer impressive battery life — its powerful battery gives you up to 16 hours of playtime per charge, it also charges other devices for you.
There is a USB port built into the side of it. The speaker can charge smartphones as well as iPads and other devices that require 2.1-amp charging.
That makes it a useful multi-purpose tool for camping, beach trips, and other outdoor adventures. According to a wired.com report, the "Big Turtle Shell" is shock proof, sand- and dust-proof and water-resistant.
The speaker supports Bluetooth 4.0, NFC pairing, and line-in input through a 3.5mm port, the report added.
Tech Buzz: Blackphone hopes to satisfy privacy concerns In 3 weeks
After having been available for preorder since the beginning of the year, the privacy-centric Blackphone will be shipping in three weeks for $629. The device is pitched as an Android smartphone that's designed around security and privacy, both areas of growing concerns with the rise of malicious software, hacks, and government surveillance.
The phone's shipping announcement was made in San Francisco, California at the MIT Technology Review Digital Summit. Blackphone is designed from a partnership between Geeksphone and security firm Silent Circle.
The device will provide end-to-end encryption for Blackphone customers who interact with each other. For messaging from a Blackphone device to a non-Blackphone, there will be a one-way encryption that occurs from the Blackphone side to Silent Circle servers.
Additionally, Blackphone can mask what information and block apps from obtaining private information. In one example, if an app requires access to the phone's address book, Blackphone can intercept that request and tell the app that the address book is empty.

Educational Buzz: 17 Countries now recognise Indian Engineering Degrees
Good news for holders of Indian Engineering Degrees . Engineering graduates can now easily apply to foreign universities of take advantage of international prospects as engineering degrees of India will now be recognized across 17 major countries. India has now become the permanent member of the Washington Accord which would mean access to countries like US, Japan, Australia. Washington Accord is an international agreement for accrediting undergraduate engineering degree programmes.
Although pass outs of IITs have not yet faced a problem in terms moving on and being accepted to colleges abroad but that is the least we can say about graduates from the other engineering colleges present in the country.
The Washington Accord aims at encouraging mobility and quality assurance across countries. Becoming a member of the Washington Accord implies that the engineering students of India are meeting the academic requirements necessary to take practice of engineering in any of the signatory countries.
Smriti Irani, HRD Minister was quoted by The Economic Times, having congratulated the officials of HRD ministry, "This will ensure highest quality assurance standards to be implemented in our technical and engineering programmes and provide global mobility to our engineering graduates. Graduates having degrees, which have been so accredited, would have substantial international equivalence of their achievement levels across the signatory nations. This will substantially enhance their employment opportunities around the world."
The efforts to be part of this have been going on since 2002, although a serious effort was only made by the Kapil Sibal, former HRD Minister, by including granting of autonomous status to the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) as it is necessary to have a national accreditation system by the Washington Accord to be a member.

Tech Buzz:Find out the solution for How To Fix Insufficient Storage Available In Android Smartphones
Find out the solution for How To Fix Insufficient Storage Available In Android Smartphones ?
The internal memory of the Android Smartphone's is not very large. When you download the apps from Google Play Store, they get saved in the phone and occupy a large space. Only a few apps can be saved in the phone memory and once the space is full, you get an error message "Insufficient Storage Space". As it is a very common problem, therefore there are many users who are facing this issue. You will certainly want to get rid of this issue so that you are able to download more apps and enjoy them on your device.
Here are the best methods that can be followed to overcome the message of "Insufficient Storage Space".
Use Lucky Patcher App
The Lucky Patcher is one of the best apps that can be used to overcome the problem of insufficient storage space. This app is free and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
Step 1 – Just download the app from Play Store and install it.
Step 2 – Now run the app, explore the menu and find the option of troubleshooting
Step 3 – Reboot the device by selecting the option "remove fixes and backups".
With the help of this app you will be able to troubleshoot all the problems and fix the bugs. Whenever you get the error message, just use this app and your problem will come to an end.
If the above method does not work, you can follow the next method which is discussed below.
Step 1 – Before you begin with the process, you need to download and install the Java Development Kit on your PC.
Step 2 – Next download the Android SDK
Step 3 – Go to the Start Menu, type "cmd", right click on it and run as administrator. A dialog box will appear before you, just click yes.
Step 4 – Now in command prompt, type "cd C:Program Files (x86)Androidandroid-sdkplatform-tools".
Step 5 – Take your Android devices in hand, look for Settings option, go to Applications and then find the option of Development. Enable the USB debugging option and connect your phone to the PC via data cable
Step 6 – Follow the below commands; adb shell pm getInstallLocation and assign 3 location values
0 [auto] – This will be given by the system
1 [internal] – Install your application in the phone memory
2 [external] – Install your application in SD card
These are the three settings that you have to make. Once these are done, you can now change the location to 2 [external] which is your SD card. In this way, you will be able to install any number of applications because now all the apps will be saved on the SD card. Disconnect your phone from the PC so that you are able to use the device to install the apps.
So these are the two ways which can be used to overcome the problem of insufficient storage space. As the steps are simple and direct, therefore you will be able to fix the problem and enjoy a variety of apps without having any space issues.
