In the recent past if there is any industry that is ranked amongst the fastest growing, it is that of event management. Until the mid-90s there were only large-scale players, with international tie-ups. There were few companies that originated in India and have grown by leaps and bounds and employ staff strength of fifty to hundred professionals in the various departments. Not to mention the number of consultants and contractors, per project taken up. And all this has increased the number of event management jobs in the country

Jobs in event management require certain skills. These are now being taught by institutes that offer courses in the field. They provide theoretical information and conduct exams; while some of the larger ones tie up with companies that provide internship for students in order to put to practical use all that they are learning in the classroom.
